On 26th November 2017, The Struggle Publication and Pakistan Trade Unions Defence Campaign (PTUDC) organized book inauguration ceremony of Urdu translations of Leon Trotsky’s masterpiece “History of Russian Revolution” at Press Club Hyderabad.
Despite The Political turmoil that has taken place all over the country a large number of workers, students, youth and women participated from different districts of Sindh to pay tribute to Bolshevik Revolution. As roads were blocked but the participants reached the Hall with revolutionary spirit. Workers from Pakistan Railways, WAPDA, PTCL, NADRA, Utility Stores Corporations, OGDCL, Para-Medics and APECA participated in the book inauguration ceremony. Students from Mehran University, Sindh University, Liaquat University Of Medical Sciences, Quid-e-Awam University Nawabshah and Sindh Law College were present in the ceremony.
The ceremony was presided by the communist leader Jam Saqi while Dr Lal Khan, editor of Asian Marxist Review and International Secretary of PTUDC was the chief guest. Rahul performed the duty of stage secretary and invited Nathu Mal to welcome the guests. He appreciated the revolutionary spirit of comrades for organizing such a marvellous program. After that President PTUDC Sindh, Anwar Panwar discussed the gains of Bolshevik Revolution. After that comrade Jam Saqi, Dr.Lal Khan, renowned columnist Yousaf Sindhi, Regional Director AIOU Inam Sheikh, Senior Journalist Ishaq Mangrio, Principle of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law College Riaz Hussain Baloch , Hameed Somro and Majid Memon from Pakistan Steel Mill said that the Urdu translation of “History of Russian Revolution” is the greatest way to pay tribute to the Bolshevik Revolution. Speakers discussed the current sociopolitical situation of Pakistan and they scientifically related the situation with the pre-revolution situation of Tsarist Russia. They highlighted the different aspects and the struggle of Leon Trotsky. They said, to understand Marxism, One must need to study Leon Trotsky. They added that this book is a revolutionary weapon for those who are struggling to emancipate the working class from the shackles of Capitalism. The ruling elite never portrayed the history in its real essence. The working class has been betrayed many times and they are in the clutches of Bourgeoisie. The task to end capitalism can only be performed by the working class itself. Participants chanted revolutionary slogans and the program concluded with Workers’ Internationale.
