Revolutionary Students Front (RSF) condemn the actions of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad for expelling three students, who were rightly criticizing the corruptions of university administration on Social media. Students maintained that the administration, teachers and the security guards as well humiliate students. According to a regular student of University, the children of high-rank officials and other influential people were unduly facilitated in the examinations. This environment of nepotism, corruption and mismanagement at the university has to be stopped.
One of the expelled students said in an interview that he was called for questioning by the administration officials where he told them that he was not running any page against the varsity. “They replied that ‘you like and comment on the page’s posts. That’s enough evidence’,” he added.
This is not for the first time that that UAF has expelled students over social media posts criticising the administration. Last year in January, the university had expelled a student after he criticised an event organised by the management. In 2010 UAF also expelled 2 Students for rising voice for the students’ rights, and with the help of police administration the management raided at their houses, but with the genuine struggle of students both students were restored.
On Tuesday, 20th June Reporters covering the issue at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) over expelling students for Facebook posts that criticised its management were thrashed by the university’s guards outside its gate. The reporter, cameraman and driver were severely beaten and tortured by the administration and security guards.
Revolutionary Students Front demand an urgent restoration of the expelled students and the issues, highlighted by the students, must be resolved.
