After two rich sessions full of enthusiasm and revolutionary spirit on the first day of the Congress 2016 there was a brilliant mood on the second day on October 23 at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Lahore. With more people reaching from different cities of the country the total number of comrades and sympathizers of The Struggle taking part in the congress reached about 2200. The day opened with revolutionary anthems, poems and slogans.
One session on ‘Political Strategy and Organization’ was held on the second day. The session was chaired by Rauf Lund and led off by Lal Khan. After a detailed lead off on the topic organizational reports on trade union, women and youth work, paper and finances as discussed in the commissions earlier were presented and overall strategy of work and targets were discussed comprehensively. Central Committee (CC) slate was announced by Rauf Lund.
After the lunch break regional reports and targets from all the thirteen regions were presented. This was followed by the voting on the documents on ‘Word Perspectives’, ‘Pakistan Perspective’ and ‘Building of a Revolutionary Party’. The CC slate was then voted on and unanimously approved. Comrade Lal Khan summed up the session and the congress in his closing remarks after which the congress ended with raised fists and singing of Internationale. The morale, enthusiasm and determination at these movements can’t be expresses in words. This marvelous congress has marked a new stage in the development of forces of revolutionary Marxism in Pakistan, South Asia and world.
