On 20th June, comrades and the activists of Socialist Laborers Party (SEP) staged a protest in front of Pakistan Consulate, İstanbul to demand liberty for Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar.
Here we put the text they read in the protest:
“Today, we are here to demand liberty for Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar who were arrested by Pakistan state following the deadly attacks in North Waziristan on 26th May. We also condemn the massacre of Pakistan army that killed 13 civilians who participated in peaceful protests.
We, as the revolutionary socialists of Turkey strongly condemn the arrests of Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar. They are the elected deputies (Members of National Assembly Pakistan) of Pashtun people and you have to respect democratic rights.
Pakistan army pulls the strings of the rotten regime in Pakistan. The Pakistani Army achieved to affect the elections in favour of its candidate. Pakistani army arose triumphant with a dogfight over India. Bourgeois media is completely under the Pakistani army and its fake news. With this increasing power, Pakistani army started to threat PTM openly. Last month, they had given the signals of the massacre that happened on May 26 by saying that “Time is over.”
Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar’s arrest is illegal as they have parliamentary immunity it can only be lifted by the approval of the parliament. But it is very clear that Pakistan is not under the rule of law, it is under the rule of tyranny. The fake news appeared on media to criminalize PTM that is a very common characteristic of dictatorial regimes.
We, as revolutionary socialists in Turkey demand immediate and unconditional release of Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar who are democratically elected representatives of Pashtun people and democratic rights must be respected.
Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar are labelled as terrorists and under the pretext of counter-terrorism act, they are now in prison. These claims are ridiculous! Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) have been struggling against jihadist terrorist oppression and safety for Pashtun people. Ali Wazir himself is a member of a family whose 13 members murdered by the Taliban. As socialist revolutionary deputy, Ali Wazir has been struggling against poverty, exploitation, oppression, capitalist barbarism and Taliban terrorism at the same time. The accusation of terrorism is a lie! Pakistan state has been supporting jihadist fanatics in the area of North Waziristan. They are the real terrorists that have been supported by the Pakistani regime in the region against the struggle of Pashtun people in the North Waziristan.
We, as revolutionary socialists all over the World, are fighting together against capitalist barbarism and oppression. Capitalism creates crisis, wars, poverty all over the World and we are in solidarity with laborers and revolutionaries who are fighting against dictatorships, massacres and oppression in Pakistan, Sudan, France, Iran, Argentina and the rest of the World. Our common struggle will destroy the unequal and looter system that can only be achieved by a united working class all over the World.
Release Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar immediately!
We are in solidarity with Ali Wazir and their struggle for freedom and their fight against capitalist barbarism!
